Just doing my part

Ok so I realize that I waste a lot of food on my own, but whenever possible i like to limit it. So I think we should start a campaign to limit one key area of waste...Garnishes. Seriously? they just sit there on the side of the plate and noone eats them. Think about how much you could offset your carbon footprint by leaving them planted. We have Cabbage, parsley, random leafy things, cole slaw...ok so cole slaw isnt a garnish, but still...who eats that??? gross.

So from today forward I will be boycotting all restaurants that just throw around tasteless items of produce for decoration. Are you with me??

I will only make exceptions when it looks like this:

Cole Slaw is soo good, especially on a big mound of BBQ pork. mmmmmm

Of course I would eat cole slaw any day of the week, that and corn on the cob.

I have to say I like cole slaw too.

I find Mexican restaurants very interesting in this regard, because while I think guacamole and pico de gallo are very useful garnishes, rice and beans are the biggest waste. The main reason is that I really just don't like rice.
