i'll tell you what i want, what i really really want

the spice girls circa 1999.

I went to the victoria's secret semi annual sale like I always do in search of new bras, undies, nighties, etc. I love victoria's secret.

What i found, i certainly was not expecting. The spice girls Greatest Hits. I saw it from across the room, and I told myself if it was under 5 bucks i'd buy it. I walked over....4.99! sweet! So clearly i had to buy it. I never bought any of thier cd's after spice world so i figured this might have a bunch of other songs that i didnt have. I was wrong. Its mainly spice world with maybe 2 additional songs. its alright though, i dont regret my purchase

Fun weekend

the highlights of my weekend might lead one to believe i was 5 or had a child, but neither are true.

Friday I kicked off the weekend Celebrating birthdays with the Criss Crew at Pump it up, a moon bounce haven where even adults could bounce. The obstacle course was harder than i thought it would be considering the spaces to crawl between were made for someone half my size.

Sat I went to the national mall to see the exhibit on NASA. it was alright, but clearly directed at younger kids :(

Sat night I saw Wall*e. It was AWESOME. You should all go see it. There wasnt a single little kid in the theater when I went and I'm pretty sure everyone in there loved it. Good story, cute romance, great message, good animation, awesome space, etc etc etc. go watch it :)

Michel Gondry

The other day I was listening to Peter Gabriel's Sledgehammer over the sound system in the goddard gift store. it was stuck in my head for two days straight, and then when it finally got out I read the following pictorial article which, got the song back in my head.

http://www.ew.com/ew/gallery/0,,20208853,00.html

Michel Gondry is kinda awesome. Not only did he create some pretty kick ass movies and videos, but it turns out he's pretty funny too. I like his commentary on the above videos. Its quite a collection of videos too.

Alas, i'm not alone in thinking he's awesome :( http://stuffwhitepeoplelike.com/2008/02/17/68-michel-gondry/

why target is an awesome store

Last night I bought a nerf football, and boggle.

The nerf football is b/c i'm getting a little tired of playing frisbee and getting hurt when i catch it, or even worse i'm getting embarassed about how i can never throw it in the direction i intend. The nerf football changes all of that. It doesnt hurt, and i'm pretty good at throwing it straight.

Boggle was fun yet disappointing at the same time. The grid was 4x4 instead of 5x5. Are kids getting dumber? do they need this game to be made easier? Also the game itself is more cheap now. The indentations dont really hold the blocks making it harder for them to fall into place. Oh well, still fun :)

The Red Album

Since Eric thinks i'm basically the coolest person ever he gave me a copy of the new self titled Weezer album....the red one.

Basically its really awesome. I love the way they are just like yeah, we are good, whats up? Also they fully admit lyrically that they are old as anything.

Pork and Beans is on my summer 08 mix so far. Of course its pretty lonely on that play list with The new Coldplay song and an old foo fighters cover i just found (baker street). So if you have any suggestions what I should add to this mix i'm all ears. I was thinking of one metro station song b/c who doesnt like a little Billy Ray Cyrus offspring in their music selection.

In summary. Buy the new weezer cd. Also Eric is pretty rad, so thanks.

Show Time Dissapoints

Last year when weeds returned they premiered Californication right after it. I loved it. Partially b/c for the first time in my life i have a crush on david duchovny (i know, kinda a decade late for the trends).

So this year I decided to give the "secret diary of a call girl" a chance. It sounds like it has some potential. Instead it sucks and is boring.

Denver: Where beer flows like wine

well I'm back from three days in mile high city. Made it to two microbreweries, gave one presentation, and went to one baseball game. I'd say it was an action packed 3 days.

I got back just in time to go to Chris's brewing birthday on sat at shanendoah breweries where we got to brew our own honey heffenwizen. Lots of fun.
(pictures here: http://www.flickr.com/photos/59587601@N00/sets/72157605753269410/)

In a few weeks we can go pick up our beer. hopefully we didnt f'it up and it tastes yummy! The pre fermented stuff tastes terrible.

Weeds is back!

and its starting tonight! Peter is out tonight so i'm just doing what I do best, TV and cooking :) The pie (red fruit tart to be excact) is in the oven and now i'm eagerly anticipating a wonderful new season of weeds!!!

You have no idea how excited I am.

Mary Louise Parker is way cute, and I basically love everyone on this show, even whichever olsson twin is on it.

If you know whats good for you netflix the first three seasons and watch this season. Especially if you want to join in conversation with me for the next few months.

The Incredible Hulk

We saw the hulk this weekend. It was alright. I think if it hadn't come out the same summer as Iron man it would have been good for a super hero movie, but it doesn't even hold a candle to Iron man. Liv Tyler was good, but Gwennyth was better, Edward Norton was alright but Robert Downy Jr was A zillion times better.

I'm excited for the future in marvel super heroes. Evidently Leonardo Dicaprio is an option for Captain America, and that makes me very excited! Maybe captain America can Join Iron Man in the ranks of greatest super hero movies ever (http://www.latinoreview.com/news/marvel-wants-a-titanic-star-for-captain-america-4837)

Plays for free Doogie Howser episodes

You are welcome

Oh yeah it has other shows too (basically its awesome)

last night i started with 1989's greatest. season 1 episode 1. when i watched these back in 1989 doogie seemed so old and i couldnt quite grasp how absurd it was for him to be a dr....16 is pretty old after all to an 7 year old...actually its unclear why my parents let me watch anyway. He is so young! how did this ever seem like a good show? but it is! its totaly ridiculous and there are some awesome ultra cheesy scenes that had me laughing pretty hard, but i dont think those were the intended comedic parts.

Who knew tomatoes were such a major part of my diet!

It seems that all of Greenbelt md has ban tomatoes due to the recent salmonella outbreak. So first I tried subway, Bread, lettuce, cheese, olives, pickles and mustard.....kinda boring without the tomato it turns out.

Next was wendy's. There i have to order the salads without the meat, so I got the tortilla salad without chili. They actually handed me without saying that it was this plain, a bowl of lettuce with like 10 shreds of cheese on top. To make it up to myself i bought one of those new chocolate hand swirled frosties. it was yummy.

Lets hope this tomato scare ends soon otherwise i'm gonna starve!

Team B.O.O.B. Races again

Team B.O.O.B. completed its second annual race for the cure to raise money for breast cancer research and treatment. We raised between 600 and 700 dollars. Thanks to everyone that came out and supported our team. Cant wait till next year!

http://www.wjla.com/news/stories/0608/526673.html

Overheard in my life:
"sometimes science doesnt matter when aliens are invading our fucking planet!"
-Will during sat night's thunderless "lightning storm".

Also it was very nice to have leslie here for the weekend! I cant wait till she comes back in July!!!

Another one bites the dust

first it was the chesapeak bagel place, then it was the restructuring of safeway sandwiches which did away with all veggie options, and now its the greenway center liquor store's sandwich shop.

Lunch options are dwindling and it sucks :(

Jim my coworker is AWESOME

He found two wii fits and bought one for me and one for him! Tomorrow I'll get the fit and be able to try it out asap. All i know is that tomorrow is going to be a long day at work knowing all day that i have my fit waiting for me :)

The search for the Wii Fit

I really want the Wii fit, but I just cant find it anywhere.

Before it even went on sale i went to the store and they were already sold out! Everywhere online they are sold out, and when i go to the store to ask if by chance they have any people just laugh at me :( its kinda sad.

I finally located some at walmart waaaaaaaay in the boonies, so now i have to find a time hopefully soon to drive out there and hunt it down.

if you see any wii fits in the store do not hesitate to text me and give me the location so i can go get one

502 almost hit me!!

yes, thats right. manny ramirez's 502nd home run flew directly at me and was caught a few rows in front of me.

Unfortunately jacoby stole no bases, and Terry francona left okajima in one batter too long and we lost :(

My personal favorite moment of the game is when i got to my seats in center field, and realized there was no scoreboard to be seen, no jumbotron to show me who the players are, and no info screen to tell me who is at bat since it was all directly above me. I looked out and the sox were up at bat. I could barely make out the figure, but I knew, it was manny, I knew the baggy clothes, the dreads, the strong swing. The sox took the field, and again, without being close enough to see faces or read the jersey i knew who almost every player on the field was by recognition of their body type/image/position. I was very proud of myself :)

Red Sox

Tonight I am going to the Red sox orioles game at Camden yards. I am a little disappointed that I missed Manny's 500, but its alright.

If you are an avid reader of my blog you know that I really like Jacoby Ellsbury. Worlds fastest human. Seriously. He could probably give a jaguar a good race. Anyway, he has stolen i think 27 bases so far this season, and 37 in his career. Its ridiculous. Lately he's been upping the game with about 3 stolen bases a game, which if he continues at that rate he will get about 80 stolen bases this season! Clearly i know that he probably will end up with more like 50, but its possible that he'll break all sorts of records on this. Keep an eye on that guy! Redsox's record was set in 1973 by tommy harper with 54 bases in a season...unfortunately Ricky Henderson has set the record in 1982 with 130 stolen bases in a season, and 1,406 in his career. Its jacoby's rookie year though, so he has time to break that record too.

Also Chris saabye saw many of the players in baltimore this weekend. Maybe I'll post one of his pictures later of mike lowell. The funny thing is that evidently Chris's mom asked Papelbon to take his picture with her and he said no!!! wtf. oh well.
